How I transformed my life with the power of a Virtual Assistant

By Joe Da SilvaJun 2, 20264 min read

People ask me where I live. Miami, Bogotá, New York, Montevideo. The truth is, I live in my heart. A friend once called me a nomad — I'll take it.

Three years before any of this, I burned out as a VP of Sales. Fat, sick and depressed — chasing a version of "success" that didn't include time or health. So I quit, traveled for six months, and came back certain of exactly one thing: I'd never be an employee again.

I hired my first assistant to buy back my time. She nicknamed me "the Virtual CEO." It stuck. Today I run my entire company from my smartphone — a team in the cloud, with me wherever I go.

At this very moment: my researchers are prepping campaigns, my appointment setter is closing leads on VirtualLeadGen, and my Emily booked my flight and proofread this post — while I write it from a plane. Isn't that the point?

Didn't we become entrepreneurs to own our time? To do what we love? Success you have no time or health to enjoy is worthless. You only get one shot. Build the life, not just the business.
